• General +

Wharram Pahi 42 built in 1992 (according to paperwork seems 1992 was start of build, launch was more like 1996)
Self-built in the UK, Leicestershire by Ian Parker.
It's' a two masted gaff with wharram wingsails instead of the regular bermudan rig that the plans suggest. The large deckpod is also non-standard and was probably built by the second owner, Douglas Mitchell, as it does not seem to be part of the initial build.
It does maintain the designs flexibility as its not connected to the hulls, but sits in between the beams.
  • Hulls and decks +

The original builder has used high quality ply and softwood for the whole build, mostly douglas fir (available and affordable in the 90’s in the UK).
The decks are renewed and made of Japanese cedar planking from the Azores, very lightweight, weather resistant, beautiful and organic.
Instead of screws, lashed together, which gives it a more natural feel but solid attachment.

  • From the owner +

Built in the UK, second UK owners moved it to South Spain, where after some years they sold it to a Spanish Family
    We are the 4th owners.
Recently sailed 5800NM (and counting) from Portugal, via Morocco, Canary islands and Cape Verde, to the Carribean.
Averaged 130NM+ per day on our crossing.
Especially good in surfing waves, reaching top speeds (bursts) of 12knots, while completely loaded.
Very stable and comfortable for its size.
The unusual two masted gaff setup and extra sails allows for a large variety of sail setups, and divides the sail area, making it easier and safer to manage, also giving you a backup in the worst case scenario.
