Being built in 1979 at Gladstone Lyall & Co Shipyard in Ullal, Karnataka, she is still in good shape. Building her with marine ply on tropical hardwood stringers, phosphor bronze fastened in Mangalore, Southern India, has proved to have been the right material and place to do it. The fiberglass sheath is still complete and strong. Mizzen and main mastcases have been replaced this spring. The Bulwarks are presently replaced with brand new Fundermax 8mm duromer high-pressure laminates (HPL), being used for balconies and exterior planking. This should last at least 20 years.
