  • General +

Wharram Pahi 42 launched Australia 2013.
External Hull skins and cabin tops are epoxy soaked marine ply with double bias sheathing. 6 layers of glass applied to the deep V keel.
TAT2 nails are all silicon bronze. Bolts are all Stainless Steel. Her Beams are made from laminated, epoxy saturated, marine ply with oregon fillets and fiberglass enclosed.
Internal keel wells and bulkhead wells are all fiberglass lined.
2 x 8 metre Kwila rubbing strakes are fibreglass enclosed on the gunnel and capped with custom Stainless Steel capping trim.
Heavy duty Braided polymer black mesh is on two forward trampolines and one narrow aft tramp. The polymer mesh is soft to sit on and allows great vision through to water.
The Custom made aluminium aft deck is fitted with a 2 mtr wide drop down ramp and fold out duck board. The ramp is used for tender retrieval and as a swim/ dive platform and has underwater LED lights.
Decking in the Cockpit/helm is ‘glass over ply’ on floors and walls and is fitted with a Custom Stainless Steel Roof Frame. Top quality ‘Ferrari’ vinyl roof, walls and and zip clears give 360 degree vision. The clears are able to be rolled up allowing complete ventilation in tropical weather and to enable windage reduction in gale or cyclonic conditions. All windows are 10ml Lexan.
All external surfaces are painted with high grade polyurethane. Wattyl Poly U400. We chose this product specifically because of the hard gloss finish and the ability to repaint without the need for sanding. The surface simply needs cleaning down with methylated spirits or similar.
Antifoul is copper epoxy with 3 layers of Wattyl ablative antifoul over it. She was most recently antifouled at Rockhampton slipway in August 2016.
2 large capacity and 2 medium stowage pods made of glass/ply/epoxy are fitted to the underside of the centre deck between the first and second main crossbeam and the second main crossbeam and the mast beam.
2 x Gas bottle storage and fender storage under forward deck with custom aluminium hatches. Gas lines are fitted to galley and port and starboard points on the aft deck for the gas BBQ.
3 mtr aluminium mesh catwalk to front beam, with storage under for kayak paddles , oars, etc.

She has a tiger wood, removable Dinette table in the port hull and a tiger wood fold out Chart table in Starboard hull. The galley and bathroom are also varnished timber and stainless steel.

In June 2017 a new start battery was installed, worn zippers and clears were replaced, new fuel filters installed, new deck carpet throughout, deck hoses replaced with new ones, non skid paint on top sides was refreshed.
She was most recently antifouled at Rockhampton slipway in August 2016.
Because we chose the higher quality materials in the build and finish, TAT2 shows minimal signs of wear.
  • More Detail +

A stainless steel frame was custom made to completely cover our generous cockpit area.
The soft roof is made of Ferrari (a superior vinyl) and the clears on the walls and windscreen are able to be rolled away to allow full ventilation in the tropics and reduce windage in a gale.
We added a sail track to the under side of the boom to slide in an extra layer of shade with a boom tent and also extended the shade area to cover the back deck as required.
Access to the hulls from the cockpit has been improved by a ‘cut away’ in the companionway. We use slide up hatches to close it off in a messy sea.
The seats of the cockpit double as water storage tanks, tool storage area and space for wetsuits, fins and masks.
The forward section of the cockpit is occupied by the nav gear, engine controls and the electronics console.
Under the console is 2 x 60 litre built in ice chests. We only use the ice chests when we have guests onboard for an extended cruise, thus carrying extra provisions. Normally the Engel Fridge/freezer in the galley is sufficient for two or three people.
    Deck pods/Storage:
We created extra storage in our unique deck pods which are slung between the first and second, and second and third main crossbeams. We use these areas for the anchor chain locker and to store bulky items like crab pots, generator, kids boogie boards, rubbish, spare ropes and jerry cans, outboard for the tender etc.
We also added some aluminium cages next to the deck pods to create a flush foredeck. Gas bottles, fenders and barge boards are stored in the cages. We’ve created a storage space under the aluminum catwalk for paddles, oars, mops and the like.
Trampolines on the foredeck are made of a soft braided black mesh, great for lounging on and watching dolphins and a good place to tie down the sit-on-top kayaks.
